Paterson Fire Displaces Two Families

PATERSON, N.J. — No injuries were reported during a Wednesday afternoon fire in Paterson that displaced two families.

The fire, which began around 2 p.m. in the attic of a River Street apartment building, and took around 45 minutes to extinguish, Deputy Fire Chief Michael Fleming said.

"The damage on the second floor in the rear is a little extensive," Fleming told Daily Voice, "but other than that it's not extensive. Smoke and water damage."

The cause was still under investigation, he said.
